089 Dry Sink Cabinet or Birdcage Stand
DRY SINK Cabinet
This dry sink project cabinet project started as a request to create a sturdy stand to hold a large bird cage.
I felt that this style of cabinet would make a great stand for her bird cage. However even if you don’t have a bird 🙂 the cabinet works well as a side table or even just a decorative storage cabinet along a wall. It would also make a great television cabinet for a medium sized TV. Just add a shelf for the a/v components and you’re all set.
This cabinet was constructed using solid cherry and shop made v shaped tongue and groove boards for the end panels. Both the top and shelf are built using cherry plywood or solid wood if you prefer. The doors are raised panels and the dry sink cabinet rides on hidden castors for easy mobility. The molding both upper and base I made on either the tablesaw or my horizontal router (plan 037)
Overall this is a great multi-function cabinet that is fun to build.
By the way the customer’s bird (Winston) was very happy with his new perch. Enjoy. Have fun in your shop!
