Flower Pot or Keepsake Box
This Flower or plant box is a very basic build project that came about as my better half was trying to find a container to put plants in the bathroom. We have a couple of built in shelves that mount up in the skylight opening. It will also make a very attractive keepsake box if you make the optional lid.
I have added an optional lid and decorative moulding for those that don’t require a flower pot holder.
There are very few parts to this plan however there is some creative machining required. Cutting the cove on the tablesaw may be a new skill to some. Check out cutting a cove on the tablesaw to find the safest way to perform the operation. Marc (The Wood Whisperer) at http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/videos/coves-on-the-tablesaw-the-parallelogram-cove-jig/ has a great free video explaining the operation of cutting coves, both symmetrical and asymmetrical. There is even a bonus video that shows you how to construct a table saw cove cutting jig.
Which ever box version you decide to build, I’m sure you will be pleased with the end result.
