Need a quiet place to sit and relax in your garden, this project is for you. The gently curved seat and comfortable backrest makes a great place to take a break from your hard work in the shop. As with any outdoor project wood selection is very important. Mahogany would be the best choice, however unless you won the lottery or have unlimited funds you might want to look at cedar or meranti as an alternative. The mortise and tenon joinery which is secured with outdoor wood screws insures the bench will last for years to come. As with some chairs there are no angled tenons to give you night mares, everything is kept simple to make this a practical build. The bottom stretcher is dovetailed in for strength and appearance. Relax and enjoy your new garden bench.
"Don't think of retiring from the world until the world will be sorry that you retire. I hate a fellow whom pride or cowardice or laziness drives into a corner, and who does nothing when he is there but sit and growl. Let him come out as I do, and bark."
