046 Glass Top End Table
This glass top end table is a basic build project with simple joinery. There are a few mortise and tenon joints, just on the upper stretchers. For the most part hidden wood screws or pocket screws make up the bulk of the joints.
The end table can be built from hardwood or softwood whichever suits your needs. The glass top I used is shown as 3/16” thick if you have trouble accessing that dimension of glass you will have to adjust your rabbet in the top frame to suit whatever material is available to you.
I find this style of table is very popular as it suits most peoples lifestyles. With the glass top you don’t have to worry about someone setting down a wet drink glass and marking the table.
The support under the glass looks very decorative and provides functionality at the same time. The legs are L-shaped, not solid. This brings down the costs and work just as well. The lower rails are secured to the inside of the L-shaped legs.
Whether you decide to build just the end table or both pieces, I know you will get years of service and be very satisfied with the end result.
